Currently there are over 30 self-help programs run weekly at PAACA.

Peer Counseling and Services (Referral to licensed counseling facilities as needed).

HIV Outreach/Referral

Step Up Residental Services - We operate over 50 units of scattered site permanent housing throughout New Bedford. The housing programs are for people in recovery who are transitioning from homelessness and are engaged in training, or are working. PAACA provides rental subsidies to individuals and families in the pgoram as well as supportive services designed to assist clients stablize the emotinal and financial dimentions of their lives. Transportation - The Recovery Connection is PAACA's transportation service that meets a wide variety of transportation needs for the recovery community. We provide transportion to and from many local and regional treatment agencies. Special transportation programs for HIV clients are also available. Court Liasion Services

Fishermen's Assistance Program - Our team has developed an intensive case management program that addresses all dimensions of the client's life. The goal of the Fairwinds & Following Seas Project is to identify, assess, treat, and support fisherman and their families in their efforts to attend to the substance abuse issues in their lives.

Food/Clothing Distribution - Under the direction of the A.Braz-H.Bean Memorial Community Center, PAACA collaborates in the operation of a food pantry and recycled clothing center. The center serves over hundreds of families every month from the Greater New Bedford Area. The hours are: Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 1 pm. For more information, call 508-979-1737.
